PreSonus Adds AAS Instruments To Firestudio
PreSonus announced today that its Firestudio 26x26 Firewire recording system will now come bundled with software instrument plugins from Applied Acoustic Systems. Jumping into the product box will be Ultra Analog Session and Lounge Lizard, simplified versions of AAS's analog modeling softsynth the VA-1 and the Lounge Lizard EP-3 electric piano instrument, repsectively.
The Firestudio, a unit preferred by those requiring a high simultaneous track count with high-quality preamps plus chainability is adding these new arrivals to its already sizeable software bundle, the ProPak software suite. ProPak already includes Cubase LE, Amplitube LE, BFD Lite, Riff Works and over 2GB of plug-ins, drum loops, and samples.
For their part, AAS doesn't mind the crowded box. "We are very excited to team up with PreSonus and offer their users our Session Series instruments," said Marc-Pierre Verge, CEO of Applied Acoustics Systems. "We think that PreSonus' great line of products for recording musicians constitutes an ideal environment to experiment with our instruments and more generally with physical modeling synthesis."
PreSonus is happy enough with the AAS plugs that they will be spreading out their offering to other I/O offerings in their line.
"In my search for software business partners, the team at AAS exemplified what we look for: great products and great technology that offers our customers something unique," says Michael Logue, Business Development Manager for PreSonus. "We will be looking to add these products to other recording systems as we can."
