I've been having this recurring dream: a beautiful, yet terrible white Snow Leopard* bounds into my home studio and bears down on me, staring with dripping, ravenous intent. I'm sure I'm a goner until, all of a sudden, the Snow Leopard turns away from my delicious jugular and instead claims my USB audio peripherals as its territory. Yes, by pissing on them. Then it darts away as quickly as it came in, literally whistling Dixie. Can you blame me for such a nightmare after the traumatic debacle that was OSX update 10.5.2? Unlike me, PreSonus users have nothing to fear from Snow Leopard. The company claims that their Universal Control Driver is %100 Snow Leopard compliant.

Presonus Universal Control 1.11is the latest incarnation of the company's driver for the StudioLive and FireStudio interfaces. The version supports 64-bit operation, and sports a friendly GUI via its "Launch" and "Device" windows. Most importantly, the driver supports the daisy-chaining of multiple firewire interfaces for an easily expandable home studio.

So, if you've been wooed by the Snow Leopard feature set, but are concerned about upsetting the house-of-cards that is your jury-rigged home studio, fear not. PreSonus Universal Control and Snow Leopard just can't wait to chill together.
