PreSonus Virtual StudioLive: New Software To Control StudioLive Digital Mixers
Now that PreSonus has officially announced its new Virtual StudioLive (VSL) software (Mac / Win) for the StudioLive 16.4.2 and StudioLive 24.4.2 digital mixers, owners of those mixers will be able to control them directly from a computer.
This means that you will have mouse control of the most-used StudioLive parameters. VSL provides bidirectional control of channel, subgroup, and main-bus levels; Fat Channel parameters; aux mixes; effects; and the graphic EQ. A visual overview of your StudioLive settings is displayed so that you can see, adjust, and organize them and can easily manage your presets and Scenes. Since the control is bidirectional, fader moves and parameter changes made on the StudioLive are reflected in VSL, and vice versa.
To control a StudioLive mixer with VSL, simply drag and drop what you want to hear where you want to hear it. For example, you can drag different Fat Channel presets into each channel, or just drag part of a preset to the appropriate processor within the Fat Channel; or load an entire mixer Scene by dragging it from a list that you see at all times.
Preset management is simple within VSL, according to PreSonus. Store and organize a library of presets on your computer and then transfer them to your mixer whenever you need them.
