PreSonus launched its new and improved tube-driven mic preamps, the BlueTube DP V2 and TubePre V2. Ideal for working with vocals and guitars alike, the new units make good use of the XMAX Class-A solid-state preamp, lots of tubes, and more.  

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch and you use StudioLive, you're in luck, because PreSonus will be releasing a free app that lets you and your friends simultaneously control StudioLive monitor mixes from your particular iOS device. Huzzah.  

The new PreSonus FireControl 2626 software application provides the FireStudio (26 x 26) audio / MIDI interface with Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) compatibility.  

PreSonus announced Studio One 2, updated music production software featuring integrated Melodyne pitch correction, enhanced mastering with Studio One Professional, single and multitrack comping, and much more. Next month, you'll be able to get it in three versions: Studio One Artist, Studio One Producer, and Studio One Professional.  

There's a lot of promise in a mixer called "StudioLive" — about twice as much promise as most mixers make. Does the PreSonus StudioLive 16.4.2 Digital Mixer live up to its moniker? We asked engineer Rick Weldon to take it for a couple of spins and let us know what he thought.  

Heads up, Mac heads: PreSonus announced that Studio One software (Artist and Pro), and Universal Control 1.5.2 software are now compatible with Mac OS X 10.7, better known as Lion. The PreSonus AudioBox USB interface and PreSonus Capture recording software are already compatible with Lion.  

Shopping for a compact, rackmountable audio interface? In a month or two, you can get your hands on one of three new units from PreSonus: the AudioBox 22VSL, AudioBox 44VSL, and AudioBox 1818VSL. Each one comes with integrated PreSonus software and many other nifty features.  

PreSonus is now shipping the new StudioLive 16.0.2 digital recording and performance mixer. This addition to the StudioLive line puts the same audio quality and features as the two larger StudioLive models into a more compact, portable size.  

This week at Musikmesse 2011, PreSonus announced the Universal Control 1.5 update for FireStudio interfaces and StudioLive mixers. This latest version of the control-panel software adds extra signal-processing power to all StudioLive 16.4.2 mixers.  

PreSonus introduced its new all-in-one wonder, the AudioBox Studio Recording Kit. This combo package includes a PreSonus AudioBox USB / MIDI interface, Studio One Artist software, a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, monitoring headphones, cables, and more.  

If you have both a PreSonus StudioLive digital mixing console and an iPad, head over to the App Store to download SL Remote, new iPad software that provides direct wireless control over PreSonus Virtual StudioLive software and the StudioLive mixer.  

From January 13th to 16th, you can get PreSonus Studio One Artist for $20.11 -- get it? $20.11 for 2011. This low price is PreSonus's way of celebrating the 2011 Winter NAMM Show and passing off the savings to you. This weekend, Studio One Artist users can also upgrade to Studio One Pro for just $199.  

Starting tomorrow, registered users of PreSonus Studio One Artist and Studio One Pro can get a free Nimbit account through PreSonus. What's Nimbit? A direct-to-fan platform for music businesses, Nimbit provides music makers with the tools to create, promote, sell, and distribute their music.  

Massive studio consoles with racks full of outboard processing are impressive to look at, but not very practical for the average singer/songwriter looking to lay down some simple tracks. If you can get by with one or two channels at a time, compact audio interfaces such as the PreSonus AudioBox USB can get the job done on a budget. The new PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2 digital mixer has been officially released with an estimated Street tag of $3,299. The unit is similar to the StudioLive 16.4.2, but adds eight additional channels (for 24 in all), lots of I/O, and enhanced features.  

The new drivers for PreSonus Virtual StudioLive (VSL) software provide full support for Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), plus a number of fixes and installer improvements for all FireStudio interfaces.  

Attention owners of StudioLive 16.4.2 and StudioLive 24.4.2 digital mixers: PreSonus has announced its new Virtual StudioLive (VSL) software, which lets you control those mixers directly from a computer, using drag and drop and other handy functions.  

PreSonus skipped over a few updates and went straight from Studio One version 1.0 to 1.5, adding video playback and sync for composing to picture, better Browser drag-and-drop capabilities, and much more.  

PreSonus has announced full Windows 7 compatibility for all currently available recording interfaces, including the FireBox, FP10, FirePod, and Inspire 1394.  

Like the the StudioLive 16.4.2, the new PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2 digital mixer features a user-friendly interface and extensive I/O, plus an additional 8 channels for 24 channels in all.  

The PreSonus AudioBox USB audio interface software driver adds 64-bit functionality for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 to the USB-powered audio interface. Download the driver for free from the PreSonus site.  

Registered users of PreSonus Studio One, Capture, the StudioLive 16.4.2 digital mixer, and Universal Control will want to head to the company Web site to download new maintenance and Windows 7 compatibility updates.  

Continue reading if you have a PreSonus FaderPort, you have a Mac, and your Mac runs Snow Leopard OS. If you have fewer than three of those things, you can probably skip this important announcement and move on to the next.

Having already established a commanding presence in the home and project studio market with their more than respectable USB and firewire interfaces, PreSonus is moving on to phase two pf their plan for world domination. The new PreSonus Studio One is their very own DAW, to be packaged with every interface they ship. Hey, it worked for the Greeks. . .  

The everything-box known as the PreSonus StudioLive 16.3.2 was on full display at Winter NAMM 2009, and Gearwire was lucky enough to get a very knowledgeable product rep to give us a listen to the versatile board in action.
