Pro Co Sound's "iFace" Interface
According to Pro Co Sound, their new iFace can handle "a consumer grade headphone level signal, such as an MP3, portable CD player or a laptop computer, and converts the signal to a professional grade, balanced output suitable for connection to any common mixing consoles input."
Get the full details in our exclusive video shot on the floor of Winter NAMM 2007 with the Pro Co Sound rep. This was still in production at the time the vid was shot, but it's listed at the Pro Co Sound website now.
KATHY: Hello. I’m [PH] Kathy from Pro Co Sound. And I would like to introduce to you right now a new product for us this year. It’s called the iFace. And it’s an interface box to go from your consumer iPod, your MP3 player, your laptop to your professional sound board system. It’s constructed of our nice project box. It’s a heavy-duty box. It has left and right RCA in and a 3.5 stereo in. It also has two MBT-1 transformers in it that actually you can go stereo out either left or right or sum it to one side if you only have one spot available on your board. It takes that sound and from that compressed MP3 player and makes it a beautiful tone on your $250,000 system. And we think that it’s going to be a really hot item that will be a problem-solver for everyone walking in and wanting to plug into a big system with a laptop, anybody doing a presentation, down to the doctor wanting to listen to his iPod in his operating room.
It’s actually in production at this time and you can find it at your local music store, at a distributor. You can go to www.procosound.com and look for distributors in your area.
