What's that on your iPhone? Now that Propellerhead has reincarnated its ReBirth RB-338 desktop music software application into the ReBirth app for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, you can take ReBirth with you everywhere you go -- if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, that is. The ReBirth app, Propellerhead's first major app, was developed in conjunction with software developer The Retronyms.

As a true reproduction of Propellerhead’s professional music-creation software, the ReBirth app includes all the same emulations of vintage analog hardware that the original software did, including dance music mainstays like the Roland TB-303 bass synth (the app comes with two of them), the Roland TR-808 drum machine, and the TR-909 drum machine. In addition to those emulations, the ReBirth app features audio effects and audio shapers, including tempo-synced digital delay, distortion, compression, mixing, and a special pattern controlled filter; fully featured pattern sequencers; and a fast, scalable, intuitive iPhone user interface.

Further, the app has a fully featured Song mode and advanced copying and pasting capabilities, making it easy to arrange and compose complete techno, electro, house, hip-hop, and electronica tracks and save them to your iPhone. You can also share your songs with other ReBirth users; just upload your composition to the ReBirth server, and other users will be able to access your music from their iPhones.
