Propellerhead Record Drum Takes: Hired Guns On The Cheap, Over The Wire
We all want great-sounding drum recordings in our musical projects, but few of us have access to the mics, kits, pres, compressors, players, and rooms to get it right. Forget that costly infrastructure and dig the new Record Drum Takes Refills, three volumes-worth of drums that sound like they were recorded in a pro studio with sessions players because, well, they were.
Record Drum Takes comes in three flavors, as explained by the Swedes at Propellerhead: "Alt Rock comes with hard-hitting, American drums with lots of attitude inspired by alternative and college rock; Folk Rock brings a large, warm sound, with plenty of room; Dry Indie provides two classic, laidback, dry and distinct indie pop drum tracks."
Each volume contains two distinct backing track performances, arranged by the traditional intro, verse chorus, and bridge sections, perfectly complementing Record's new Blocks arranging function. Breakdown, variations, and extra single hit samples for NN-XT are also included for extra creative control over your virtual session player.
The backing tracks are presented as multitrack sessions, allowing for independent mixing and processing of each kit element, including room / ambiance mics. The song files not only include the dry stems from each recording session, but also mixer settings for quick start sessions without having to build passable drum mixes from the ground up.
The three Record Drum Take Refiil packs are available now as a download from the Propellerhead website for $29 USD each.
