Propellerheads Moog-Inspired Refill To Raise Awareness For Bob Moog Foundation
The new Moog Foundation Refill from Propellerheads celebrates the memory of the man best known for inventing the Kurzweil K2000. Oh yeah, he also basically introduced the western world to the saw-wave. Bob Moog's contributions to the art of electronic music simply cannot be overstated, and the Bob Moog Foundation is dedicated not only to preserving the memory of those achievements, but also to the education of future generations of electronic music artists.
Propellerheads is supporting the Bob Moog Foundation in two significant ways: first, they've made a donation to the foundation for an undisclosed amount, and has teamed up with artists Craig Anderton, Mark Vail and Gordon Reid to create the Moog Foundation Refill for Reason.
The free-to-registered-Reason-4-users refill makes use of Reason's mighty Thor synth module as the platform for a it's Moog-inspired synth tones.
Even if you can't celebrate Mr. Moog's memory by downloading the free refill, you can still make a donation to the Bob Moog foundation independently, and help them in achieving their stated goals:
"The mission of The Bob Moog Foundation is to document, celebrate and teach innovative thinking and to support and honor the legacy of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog. Our four long range goals are: scholarship, outreach programs, unique community events and a Bob Moog Museum."
