In this video, Gerard Barretto of Milquetoast Sounds explains how he used a multitrack cassette recorder and tape to get the distortion sound he wanted on a drum part. It's as simple as going out from your computer rig into a cassette multitrack, blasting the input gain, and routing it all back into your computer rig.
