PRS Guitars Blue Sierra, PRS Guitars Dallas And PRS Guitars Orange Sewell: PRS Guitars Amplifiers
Most guitarists thus far have only known PRS as the electric guitar manufacturer that makes high-quality guitars they'll never be able to afford without a sponsorship / job. As of Winter NAMM 2009, with the announcements of the PRS Blue Sierra, PRS Dallas and PRS Orange Sewell, they now make high-quality amps that they'll never be able to afford without a sponsorship / job.
Though the Blue Sierra may trigger flashes of British or American ancestry, there's no debate that its tone is home on the range in Texas. This is the type of amp that will pal around with W over a brew or two at a Ranger's game. It offers a gain structure that is optimal for cleans and medium gain overdriven tones. It's sweet spot is hard to miss, just like it's hard to miss a beating if you mess with Texas! It comes in either a 50 or 100 watt head, 50 or 100 watt 2x12 combo or 50 watt 1x12 and features either EL34 or 6L6 power tubes and optional reverb.
The Dallas model recalls 6L6 driven American reverb amp tones, so it's no surprise that this amp features 6L6 power tubes with mandatory reverb. The Dallas model boasts sugary highs, solid lows and a humble midrange. The cleans are the main event on the Dallas, but it has a nice overdrive. Like the Blue Sierra its available as a 50 or 100 watt head or 2x12 combo or as a 50 watt 1x12 combo.
Finally, and perhaps the most distinguished, the Orange Sewell brings back the complex harmonics and tones characteristic of 50s era amps. With sweet, singing highs and tight lows sandwiched around a toasty midrange, the Orange Sewell goes down smooth with blooming notes, hanging sustain and lush harmonics available in EL34 or 6L6 powered models with optional reverb and the PRS Orange Sewell preamp.
