Paul Reed Smith Santana MD: The Smooth Rock Doctor Is In With A New Signature Axe

One of the standout guitars released by Paul Reed Smith at Winter NAMM 2008 is the Santana MD signature model. According to reports from within the PRS camp, many notable guitarists who play PRS models were in attendance including Santana himself, Mike Mushok of Staind, David Grissom of John Mellencamp [who drove to NAMM in a Chevy truck], Richard Eckhardt of Toby Keith [who was missing a boot for some odd reason], Mike Scott of Justin Timberlake, and Frank Romano of Usher [the last two even barely recognizable by the singers they play with].

Santana himself introduced the new Santana MD, which stands for "multi-dimensional" thanks to its multi-dimensional voice control system. Santana had some kind words to say about Paul Reed Smith.

“Sound and tone are everything. Sounds, resonance, vibrations . . . these are our tools. With these tools we get to give people chills. [PRS] guitars allow us to do that unconsciously; we don’t have to think about it."

David Grissom, who has been working back and forth with PRS on the David Grissom Trem (DGT) also complimented Paul Reed Smith for their excellent craftsmanship, and Staind's Mike Mushok was introduced as the newest member of the PRS family.

It's nice to see him again anywhere and doing his p.r.for the MD 08 new issue. Printed for my wall because i have always LOVED his music since i was a very young man.
