PRS Guitars Ted McCarty SC and DC 245: Paying Homage To A Legendary Electric Guitar Innovator
Despite more than half a century of pushing forward the cause of the electric guitar, not one guitar maker has paid tribute to Ted McCarty, a man whose innovations gave way to the guitars that we so love hearing today, until Paul Reed Smith came into the picture. In his role as a consultant, Ted McCarty paved the way for PRS Guitars to become a force to be reckoned with. It is therefore fitting that the PRS Guitars Ted McCarty SC and DC 245 bring honor to such a legend.
The Ted McCarty SC and DC 245 are limited production models made in the spirit of the original PRS Sunburst Series. Both models feature a 24-1/2" scale, a special bound fretboard, original PRS birds, Santana headstock shape with curly maple veneer and 1957/2008 pickups or optional Soapbar pickups. As the acronyms imply, there is a choice for either a single cutaway variant (SC 245) or the double cutaway model (DC 245).
