QESounds Altered Reality 3 Fx: A Sound Effect Library For Kontakt
Real-world sounds were sampled, then twisted into sounds entirely different, for the new Kontakt library, QESounds Altered Reality 3 Fx.
The third installment in the Altered Reality Fx series for Native Instruments Kontakt, Altered Reality 3 Fx features the everyday sounds that you are accustomed to hearing, processed and modified every which way. All of the sounds started out as real-world objects and instruments -- some with alternate performances -- and were altered using common techniques such as pitch stretching, convolution, cross-fading, sample reverse, spectral morphing, EQ, AM, stereo image manipulation, and various other means. According to QESounds, no synthesis, re-synthesis or granulation were used.
Each sound is assigned its own group so that you can tailor each sound individually to suit your needs. Altered Reality 3 Fx, which compatible with Kontakt 2 / 3 / 4, also offers Scripted Soundtools, VLR scripting built-in convolution, and a new simplified installation procedure. Use the new sample library for the production of ambient music, atmospheric tracks, sound design, and the like.
About the new sample library, the company's creative director Tuwa Sni notes, "It seems that QESounds has accumulated a reputation for specializing in "spooky" sounds [where ambience is often perceived as spooky]. While we reserve the right (and it is our intention) to design libraries outside that realm, we wouldn't want to disappoint anyone. So here is AR3Fx -- the third entry into the realm of Altered Reality with another 1,320 sounds from within sounds. AR3Fx contains more event-based sounds and a concentration of reverse based sounds and subdued FX in response to requests."
Altered Reality 3 Fx may be purchased on DVD for $99.95. Alternatively, you can purchase five separate downloads for $14.95 each (regular price is $24.95) until July 30, 2010 as part of the QESounds 1-Year Anniversary Sale.
