Radial H-Amp: Half Pseudo-Headphone Amplifier, Two-Thirds Hamper, Another Half Pseudo-Headphone Amplifier
We hear that Radial Engineering is announcing a fat sack of new products at 125th AES 2008, one of which is the brand new Radial H-Amp. It's not really an amplifier; rather, it's a "unique headphone device that takes any amplified signal and converts it so that it can be monitored through headphones." Take that for what it's worth.
It's useful for live stage sound as you can use it to take a feed from a passive stage monitor to feed headphones for your drummer. Don't feed headphones TO your drummer. That's a choking hazard.
The H-Amp has minimal draw, so you don't have to worry about impedance issues on solid state amps. Not only does this keep the math out, it constitutes the H-Amp as an official "plug and play" piece of gear.
It's features include an Neutrik Speakon input connector, headphone impedance range select, lo-cut filter, tone control and headphone volume control. You've got your pick of mono 1/4" TRS outs or mini 3.5 mm jacks to accommodate your headphone connectors. It also features durable housing: 14 gauge welded I-beam steel enclosures with book-end design to keep your switches guarded like their going one-on-one with Gilbert Arenas.
