Rain Recording Solstice: The Porsche Boxster S Of Computer Recording

March 03, 2008
Rain Recording Solstice

Rain Recording is proud to introduce the Solstice, the first Rain digital audio workstation powered by AMD Dual-Core and Quad-Core engines. The Solstice brings not only a change of seasons [though I'd much prefer an Equinox] but also impressive processing power, efficiency and graphics.

Visually, the Solstice is stunning as well. Rain describes the experience:

"Turn on Solstice and see the cool, blue light peer through the all-aluminum chassis as you push endless tracks, plug-ins and virtual instruments with virtually silent brute force."

Push through endless tracks? It sounds like Dream Theater might want to consider using a Solstice for their next album. Customer feedback is already pouring in. Customer "Alan R." praised more of the stunning visual aspects of the unit:

"Wow! The computer has exceeded my expectations. I drive a silver Porsche Boxster S on the weekends -- I'm all about looks. This computer has the LOOK. It's classy and perfect for my home recordings . . . Thank you!!!"

Of course, you don't have to drive a Porsche Boxter S on the weekends to enjoy the benefits of the Rain Recording Solstice. It's also packed with significant specs. It has room for up to 8GB of RAM, 4 Terabytes of high speed storage and several PCI cards. That means when your digital studio grows, your computer can expand with it.

With two separate FireWire chipsets, seven USB 2.0 ports and the aforementioned multiple PCI slots, you should have very little problem plugging in your hardware devices, and plug-ins and virtual instruments are easily handled as well. Rain has made sure that the Solstice is primed for compatibility with basically everything you'd imagine using.

Furthermore, an advanced cooling system and balanced component architecture prevent data bottle necks, distortion, and audio drop-outs like only you prevent forest fires.
