Randall KH15: To Play Like Kirk Hammett Involves Practice, Which Involves A Practice Amp
Randall has been showering Kirk Hammett tone fans with oodles of powerful distortion from their KH120 half stack. Now, guitarists who appreciate Metallica's lead guitar work can get a KH series amp without all the noise or expense.
Randall introduces the KH15, a practice amp with a heart of gold. It's equipped with clean and overdrive channels as well as a boost mode on the latter channel to suit you whether your practicing the finger-picking good sections of "Nothing Else Matters" or pounding out the missing beat mayhem of the intro riff to "Blackened."
Other controls include bass, middle and treble EQ knobs and a master volume -- pretty simple. The KH15 is a 12 watt amplifier with a 6.5" Randall Jaguar speaker behind a black cloth front.
To keep your riffs to yourself, the amp has a headphone jack, and if you want to pop in your Master of Puppets CD and jam along from "Battery" to "Damage Inc," it's got a CD / Tape input as well.
