Realsamples Beurmann Bundle: Harpsichords, Spinets And Dulcitones -- OH MY!
Over a brief span of time, you may have noticed that every so often, realsamples graced the masses with a new sample library taken from a different uniquely historical instrument. Now, they're bundling eight of those libraries together for the Beurmann Bundle!
This bundle puts three harpsichords, three pianos, a spinet and an early celesta Dulcitone at your disposal. Overall, these eight instruments span over five centuries of musical history, bringing you the ability to create that semi-millennial super-group, you've always wanted to pilot.
Each library contains many single samples that carefully reproduce the sound and feel of these instruments. The pianos were recorded with 32 velocity levels per note. The harpsichords and the spinet aren't velocity sensitive, but they were still sampled with up to eight different hits per note to capture the differences between their intense resonances. Though the sweet, dulcet tones of the Dulcitone aren't extremely dynamic, samples contain eight velocity levels per key.
Included Libraries:
- English Spinet (Thomas Hitchcock, London 1718)
- Italian Harpsichord (Pierluigi, Livorno 1579)
- Dutch Harpsichord (Andreas Ruckers d.., Antwerpen 1628)
- English Harpsichord (Jacob Kirckman, London 1766)
- Grand Piano (Pierre Erard, London 1837)
- Early Pianoforte (Johann Andreas Stein, Augsburg 1791)
- Dulcitone Celesta (Dyson & Sons, London 1910)
- Pianoforte (Traugott Berndt, Breslau 1848)
Nicolay Ketterer, the head of realsamples, had this to say about the intense year-long process of recording and editing these classic instruments:
"There are so many concepts and approaches when it comes to sampling, and every developer does it according to his mind. Instead of approaching sampling from a technical point of view, we tried to capture the musical nuances of each instrument in order to achieve something that is not going to be beaten just when technology reaches the next level."
