realsamples releases free download of English Harpsichord lite version

If you've been following the sampling scene this season, you know that realsamples has been hard at work on their Edition Buermann series, which features a range of intricately sampled instruments from ages past.

Now they're offering a light version of the Edition Buermann English Harpsichord for free download. It gives you 2x8" registers of a 1766 Kirckman, which many cite as the best year for a Kirckman.

You can download it here. The site is all in German, but don't worry. I've taken the liberty of translating the text on the site for you with one of those fancy online translators. They get it right all the time!

realsamples donated download from the “English Harpsichord” for Musician's Life - LIBRARY from the “edition Beurmann”, the series of historical instruments from the collection of professor Andreas Beurmann. The LIBRARY offers a zweimanualiges instrument of Jacob Kirckman from the year 1766. The high-quality sound of the Kirckman Cembali has a special place in the Beurmann collection with seven copies. In outstanding playable condition received, the here available copy demonstrates impressively, fine-drawing like fulminant sound characteristics the English Cembali.

Taken up in the klanglich unique areas of the manor-house Hasselburg, realsamples Neumann TLM-170 condenser microphones began over Crane Song Flamingo preamplifier and Universal Audio 2192 transducer. For optimal sound quality we caught the instrument in 192 Khz/24 dissolution of bit, heruntergesampelt here on 44.1 Khz / 16 bits. The Light version offers one of six gesampelten register registers (2 x of 8 “- registers) of the historical instrument with two to that scarcely five Oktaven in an storage location-optimized version with three instead of eight Velocity Layern in the GigaStudio3®-Format.
