Propellerhead Reason 5: A Reasonably Measured Look At The New Features (Video)
Now that you've seen what's new in Record 1.5, let's take a look at the wealth of new features and devices in the flagship Propellerhead product, Reason 5. Folks have been wondering for years when Propellerhead would add audio recording to Reason, and those confused by the introduction of Record should take note of the new Live Sampling features in Reason 5. Along with the new Kong Drum Designer — an MPC-clone in software form — and the jacked-up Dr. Octo-Rex loop player, Reason 5 is a formidable sample-based workstation, and that's before you even consider the wealth of synthesis options available.
Also examine is the new Block editing mode, a real workflow boon to those working with loop-based material or crafting the next pop sensation. Record 1.5 and Reason 5 are available as package deal; if you've got both installed and registered on your computer you'll be able to use all the Reason 5 devices in the Record rack. This is pretty much Reason plus audio. In other words: you're welcom.
