Recording King Lap Steel Guitar Announced, Available Now

June 15, 2010
Recording King Lap Steel Guitar features a solid mahogany body, string-through-body design, and EMG Alnico P-90 pickup.

Blues, rock, country -- you name it and the new Recording King Lap Steel guitar will play it. The Recording King's new electric lap steel, available in a classic sunburst finish (shown on left) or matte mahogany finish (shown below), provides classic slide tones and a powerful sustain.

According to the manufacturer, the lap steel's solid mahogany body and the string-through-body design makes for a full, powerful sustain, while a single EMG-designed Alnico P-90 pickup gives the new instrument that classic lap steel tone. While the matte mahogany version features open-geared tuning machines and a slotted headstock, the classic sunburst model has traditional-style tuners on a Recording King headstock.

The tuning systems and exterior finishes are the main differences between the two types of Lap Steel; everything else is represented equally on both finishes. Both types also have single volume and tone controls, which let you shape tones on the fly.

The Recording King Lap Steel guitar is now available for $149.99 (MAP) in either finish and comes with a lifetime warranty. The company will be showing off the new instrument at Summer NAMM 2010, at booth 1336.
