RME Ladyface Now Shipping: Pink Version Of The RME Babyface
Check out the pink version of the RME Babyface audio interface -- the RME Ladyface edition. This pink special-edition unit, custom-tailored for the Japanese and other Asian markets, is now available worldwide from all RME distributors.
Aside from its pink exterior, the Ladyface is exactly the same as the Babyface. The mobile, bus-powered USB audio interface provides 22 channels and the latest 192 kHz AD- and DA-converters, with two reference class microphone preamps, and all the same features and drivers as the Babyface. Housed in a solid aluminum case, the manga-style Ladyface package includes a white carry bag plus white USB and breakout cables, plus a white HiFi breakout cable with four unbalanced golden RCA connectors to the included balanced breakout cable having XLR connectors.
The Ladyface delivers two high-end analog recording channels and four analog playback channels, plus ADAT and MIDI I/O. According to the manufacturer, the unit combines excellent analog circuit design with AD / DA converter chips of the latest generation. What's more, RME’s efficient SteadyClock jitter suppression technology ensures an AD- and DA-conversion of the highest reference quality.
Both digitally controlled preamps provide individually switchable 48V phantom power. All level settings are 100 percent recallable by software and can be comfortably adjusted directly at the unit. The feature set includes digital I/O with up to 192 kHz support, alternatively usable as ADAT port or optical SPDIF I/O. In combination with an ADAT converter, the Ladyface provides 10 analog input and 12 analog output channels.
Driven from an extra DA converter, the headphone output provides the full 192 kHz sound experience, and it is available not only directly at the unit but also on the breakout cable. The additional instrument input allows for the recording of any instrument, such as a guitar or bass guitar, without any other external hardware, by switching one analog input to Hi-Z mode.
The audio interface has one main control knob and two single buttons, which provide simple desktop control for all typical studio tasks: volume control, reference volume store and recall, volume dim, input selection /switching and input gain control.
The Ladyface connects to the USB 2.0 bus, but is also compatible to USB 3 chipsets. Check the full Ladyface specs and features, below:
