RØDE NTG-3: Shotgun Condenser Handles Condensation
June 12, 2008
After years of development, the engineers at RØDE have completed the NTG-3 shotgun condenser microphone. Although it's a condenser mic, it is also a mic that doesn't sweat it when it comes to condensation. Thanks to RF-bias technology, the NTG-3 is moisture resistant, making it the ideal shotgun microphone for less-than-perfect conditions.
Other features that make the NTG-3 shine whether there's rain or not include a low weight (163g), a durable anti-glare finish and very low handling and self-noise (13 dBA). It also includes a weather resistant aluminum storage cylinder to keep it safe during travel and while not in use.
Fast features:
- Designed to withstand adverse environmental conditions
- 50% less self-noise than the majority of shotgun microphones
- True condenser (externally RF biased)
- Extremely low handling noise
- High level of immunity to radio frequency broadcast
- Superior broadcast sound quality
- Weather resistant aluminum storage cylinder included
