Roland FR-7 V Accordion: Part Two

August 01, 2007
Roland Shows Off FR-7 V Accordion at Summer NAMM 2007

In this second part of our Roland FR-7 V Accordion interview, we get a real glimpse into the sound modeling technologies within the FR-7. Given the amount of sound sets utilizing PBM technology, it is no surprise to hear the detailed response present in this accordion.

Roland's Chris Rybak goes from classic polka to musette, to mariachi; Roland gives a full demonstration on what this accordion is capable of doing. Overall, the FR-7 shows promise for the future of other types of MIDI-based PBM reproductions of existing musical instruments.

He may have combed his hair away from your liking, but he is a virtuoso, while you are an anonymous internet typist. Good luck with that.

Roland Accordion

By: djanda1937@hotmail.com
Hello --I think this is a fantastic instrument--you really bring it alive. I play piano Accordion also but have never seen anything to compare.I have played Beltuna and Soprani.I see that some of the Blue Grass bands are now having Accordions. One of the Biggest in the nation at Winfield, Kansas that just concluded last week--had a Piano Accordion for the first time. Even some of the rockers are now using Accordions--I don't know if this is a good idea or not but time will tell. We really enjoy your playing and hope to see you in person some time.
