Roland SP-404SX: New Upgrade To Famous Linear Wave Sampler Expands Performance Options
Just this first of September, Roland has announced its new update to the popular SP-404 sampler. Sporting 44.1-kHz/16-bit sound quality, improved DSP effects, a more versatile pattern sequencer, and easier data management, the Roland SP-404SX has been unveiled.
As with all portable samplers, the Roland SP-404 is designed to enable you to perform anywhere when inspiration strikes thanks to the built-in microphone, simple user interface, and optional battery operation. Twelve trigger pads, three control knobs, and a Sub Pad allow performers to trigger samples and jingles and apply effects instantaneously in any location whether it be at the club, gig, or theater.
The SP-404SX has 29 DSP effects which include filter, delay, unique voice effects, subsonic, and looper that can be switched from one to the other for that smooth performance. Its intuitive and versatile step pattern sequencer now has an improved quantize mode with new shuffle feel for intuitive, non-stop loop recording.
Talking about the new SP-404SX, Vince LaDuca, Product Marketing Manager from Roland remarks,
“Roland’s SP-Series samplers are popular worldwide among DJs, musicians, and sound engineers alike. To keep our number one market position and reach new customers, we are pleased to introduce this upgraded version of the SP-404.”
The Roland SP-404SX will be available October 2009 with an MSRP of $465.50.
