Roland SPD-S Sampling Pad Employed By One-Man-Band Willis (Né Sears) P. Jenkins

March 13, 2009
Roland SPD-S Willis P. Jenkins

Willis P. Jenkins creates beautiful, airy, layered music that sounds influenced a little bit by French Band Air. Jenkins does Air one better one better however, by having one fewer member in his band. Yeah, it's just him, and as a one man band he relies on tools like his Roland SPD-S sampling drum pad to assist in live performance.

Here, Willis gives us a taste of the many functions of which the SPD-S is capable, and how he uses it to take the place of any number of superfluous musicians who would probably just mute Jenkins's effervescent persona anyway.
