Roland TD-9KX2 And Roland TD-9K2 Released: V-Tour Series V-Drums Kits
More V-Drums are on the way -- Roland U.S. announced the availability of the the TD-9KX2 and TD-9K2 kits in the new line of V-Tour Series V-Drums. These drum kits feature V-Drums playability and sound quality, along with practice and recording features for drummers of all levels.
Both the TD-9KX2 and TD-9K2 include an updated TD-9 Percussion Sound Module, which includes over 30 added expressive sounds, plus dozens of new kits to accompany the original TD-9 factory kits. With 99 kits now available, any musical style can easily be covered, Roland says. The TD-9KX2 and TD-9K2 kits also add the ability to play MP3 files via USB flash media. According to Roland, by adding MP3 playback to existing WAV compatibility and 50 internal real audio songs, the TD-9 now provides even more creative performance and practice options.
The TD-9 Percussion Sound Module offers a huge range of sounds, all of which can be edited with the easy to use graphical interface. Ambience effects and EQ can be added to create custom kits, which are automatically stored to internal memory. What's more, with the sound module on hand, you can archive a library of custom kits and settings from the TD-9 via USB flash media. For practice, the TD-9 features the unique Scope function, providing real-time feedback of timing on an easy-to-read screen. The onboard Quick Record / Quick Play feature allows you to record and play back solo drum performances or drum parts performed with any of the internal songs.
In addition to the TD-9, both the TD-9KX2 and TD-9K2 drum kits offer Roland's multi-layer mesh heads for the snare and toms, with rim triggering available on all pads. The new KD-9 Kick Pad includes a new cloth-designed bass drum head and provides accurate triggering with a natural response and feel. Roland notes that the improved design and simple, solid mechanics of the KD-9 makes setup quick and easy.
The new lightweight CY-13R ride (with three-way triggering) and CY-12C crash V-Cymbals offer a more natural swinging motion and playing feel. Likewise, the TD-9KX2 also includes the VH-11 V-Hi-Hat, which mounts on a standard acoustic hi-hat stand.
Roland's V-Tour Series drum kits are now shipping for $3,199 MSRP (for the TD-9KX2) and $2,299 MSRP (for the TD-9K2). For more information, visit rolandus.com.
