Roland TD-20SX V-Pro Series V-Drums: Chromed-Out, Tricked-Out, And Ready To Rock
If thought the top-of-the-line V-Drums couldn't get any classier, think again: the redesigned Roland TD-20SX V-Pro Series has class out the-. . . it's really nice-looking.
The TD-20SX kit boasts a whole new look for V-Drums due to its generous use of chrome appointments. The V-Drums and V-Kick shells are wrapped in a brushed chrome finish, and the cymbal triggers are silver-colored to complement. Even the V-Drum drum rack has been given a chrome-job, giving the whole TD-20SX kit a sort of "hot-rodded big-rig" air. For a truly individual pimping experience, the V-Drum wraps can be swapped for alternate designs. Take that, Xzibit.
As Ron Burgundy knows, however, class isn't merely mesh-deep, and the TD-20SX enjoys some functional improvements as well. The V-Kick shell is larger and more robust for a playability and feel that's closer to an acoustic kit's. The chrome flash of the drum rack is unobscured by trigger cabling, as the rack features a new internal cable management system. The V-Drum mounting clamps have been upgraded to real metal, and along with the MDS-25 Drum Stand make for a rock-solid and perfectly balanced V-Drum Kit.
And then there's the TD-20X Percussion Sound Module, the most advanced electronic drum brain Roland has ever designed. Combining the features of the TD-20 and the TDW-20 expansion board, the TD-20X module boasts 100 kits and 920 drum sounds, as well as new sound layering and enhanced editing features, new compression algorithms, and huge selection of new ambiance choices. The TD-20X never met a live venue it couldn't be perfectly tuned to.
Pricing on the Roland TD-20SX V-Pro Series V-Drums is TBA, but the kit will be made available later this month.
