Rusty Trombone Erectifier Limbos Under Even Gearwire's Editorial Bar
With the number of bands on Earth projected to surpass the population by 2012, musicians have to find any way they can to get their name out there, and for Sweden's Rusty Trombone, that means commissioning a developer to design a free plugin. That plugin, Rusty Trombone Erectifier, is sure to get quite a bit of attention thanks to a little help from local VST crafter Shuriken.
Erectifier is designed to widen up your audio signal. It works as a doubler, and the band has tagged it a "demented phaser." In terms of controls, you get an LFO that controls echo time with adjustable speed and length. Erectifier also includes a filter that can switch between lowpass, highpass and allpass as well as a cut Hz control that lets you set the threshold.
Furthermore, you can add grit to your Erectified sounds with the distortion control, but bear in mind that this plugin isn't meant to give you world class distortion. Erectifier also includes a few presets, and to rectify the meager number of these in a preset-heavy world, Rusty Trombone commissioned a random function.
