Sample Magic SM-08 Nu-Rave: Because Nothing Labeled "Nu" Has Ever Not Worked Out

June 13, 2008
Sample Magic releases SM-08 Nu-Rave

The David Blaine of sampling, Sample Magic has come back from a "six month winter break spent partying in Paris and getting down and dirty with a new studio full of analogue kit." Apparently, among their other magic tricks, Sample Magic is able to double the length of winter, but all of that aside, they're back with SM-08 Nu-Rave, which they call their "sleaziest, funkiest release to date." Until they release their "Carney Metal" sample library, these laurels will remain in tact.

Nu-Rave features hundreds of mashups from electro-house, disco-punk and sleazy new wave, totaling over 800 MB of loops and one-shots in your choice of BPMs so long as you choose 120, 125 or 130. Beats are heavily influenced by their six-month winter break.

Quick contents:

  • Drums: Hundreds of restless leg syndrome slammers, glitches and bit-crushed boomboxing
  • Music loops: Disco-jams and rock / rave combos
  • Synths: Key and tempo labeled monophonic synths, rave stabs and lo-fi runs
  • Bass: Wobbly acid-lines and warm, sexy funk
  • Vocals: Digitized, synthesized and vocoded phrases
  • And more. . .
