Samson Expedition XP308i Portable iPod PA: Amplifies Non-iPod Signals, Too!
You love sharing your music with others. That's why you blast your iPod's music through your earbuds, so everyone on the bus can enjoy that repetitive, distracting club track you're playing, regardless of the irreversible damage it's no doubt doing to your own hearing. Still, you wish their was a way you could blast that terrible tune without sacrificing sound quality (seriously, that 808 bass kicks!). Well sacrifice no longer, and jack your tunes into the new Samson Expedition XP3081 Portable PA with iPod dock.
True, you'll still need to invest in a portable battery pack to turn the westbound 65 route bus into Crobar, but everything else you'll need is included in this 300 watt system. A powered mixer fits neatly into the back of one of the XP308i's speakers, and supplies 150 watts per side to the 2-way, 8"-woofer-equipped enclosures. The power amp is class D, meaning it's lighter and runs cooler than power-equivalent amps of other classes.
The mixer itself is an eight channel affair, meaning you don't have to simply settle for iPod playback. You can hook up a microphone so you can blather like a drunken drive-time DJ over songs intros, a guitar so you can "double-solo" along with EVH, or a portable turntable to turn evey track into an unwilling collaboration between your favorite artists and "DJ Mass Transit."
For those who plan to use the XP308i Portable PA as, say, a PA for your band, the mixer supports a separate 1/4" monitor output, and even phantom power for condenser and other 48v mics.
The XP308i is available now and retails for around $600 street.

Lost right Channel
I recently purchased the xp308i and used it three times, but on the fourth it lost the right channel. I'm unsure why, but i thought you should know. I sent a note to Samson and will update on the response I get in future postings.
Good Luck
