Zoom R16 Multitrack Recorder Embraces Computer Recording Revolution
January 22, 2009
While some multitrack recorder die hards simply refuse to connect any instrument they own to any of these newfangled "computers" that everyone's been talking about, the Zoom R16 looks to remedy that. This new multitrack can handle up to eight simultaneous tracks, and it's loaded with features that take computer connectivity to a new extreme.
For one, if you don't want to record to SD, as is possible with this unit, just hook it up and use it as an interface. It also acts as a control surface once you've got your tracks tracked and transferred.

I just talked to a sales rep for the company and was told us should have it in about 30 days...July 2009 then.

insane that they make windows 7 x86 compatibility difficult, and also make x64 compatibility null and void, in this age where both are getting popular...
Hello I am thinking buying The Zoom R 16 Recorder but........?
I read the operating system specs and couldn't understand why this unit as a interface couldn't be supported on a 64bit operating system. Maybe I missed read the specs? I just bought a new laptop with that new processor in it,(Intel i3 350). My computer runs windows 7 64 bit operating system. Does this mean this product won't work right as an interface on my computer?
