Sennheiser Evolution Wireless G3

They say it takes three generations for an immigrant family to become completely assimilated into their new country's culture. That's why Im surprised that the new Sennheiser Evolution Wireless G3 series decided to keep the name "Sennheiser" I mean, it's just so German! So, too, are the new 100 G3, 300 G3 and 500 G3 wireless sytems, in that they sound fantastic and are even more effieceint to setup!

A number of features make setup with the new Wireless G3 systems quicker than ever. All G3 systems now feature a switching bandwidth of 42 MHz with 1,680 tunable UHF frequencies for interference-free reception. There's also a new one-touch synchronization feature, which enables G3 transmitters to communicate with G3 receivers via an infrared interface for instant RF calibration. No more shouting up to the control booth at your assistant!

All three G3 series also sport a new frequency management function that make more preset compatible frequencies available. The 500 series has up to thirty-two presets on twenty channel banks, and six additional banks can be user-programmed in 25 kHz steps. The 300 series supports twenty channel banks with up to twenty-four compatible presets each, and six user channel banks. The 100 series offers twenty channel banks with up to twelve presets each, with one further user-programmable channel bank.

New Ethernet connections on the 500 and 300 series receivers support interconnection with a PC running Sennheiser's Wireless System Manager software, providing monitoring and professional data management for multi-channel systems. For larger systems, the standard output power in both 300 and 500 series may be reduced from 30 mW to 10 mW in order to accommodate even more channels in a given frequency range.

Menu functions are more easily accessible, and the larger dot-matrix screen displays more information than G2. Also, all G3 series receivers include an upgraded Soundcheck Mode that was only previously available on the G2 500 series models. Soundcheck Mode monitors audio and field strength levels with the receiver recording the maximum values for AF and the minimum values for RF, and can now be operated even during the performance. Also ported from the G2 500 to all G3 systems, a five-band EQ.

Fidelity has also been improved, with the audio frequency range of all G3 receivers exending from 18 kHz down to 25 Hz, making the G3 instrument systems suitable for use with bass guitar. The 500 and 100 series instrument sets also offer a tuner, as well as a "cable emulator" mode, in which you can dial in variable, virtual cable capacitance. . . now you don't have to miss what you'd otherwise be losing with cables. Huh?

G3 systems get all cosmopolitan with switchable power compatibility and swappable plug heads for the AC adaptor. You can also opt to power the receivers via the Sennheiser BA2015 rechargeable battery pack.

The Sennheiser Evolution Wireless G3 systems are shipping now.
