Seymour Duncan SFX-07 Shape Shifter Tap Tremolo Stompbox
August 09, 2007
The Seymour Duncan SFX-07 Shape Shifter was named Best in Show at Summer NAMM 2007 by Music, Inc., and Frank Falbo does his best to show us why. It's a 100% analog signal path tremolo pedal, but it has a "digital brain" that controls that path. So, you get that tube sound and digital control. Falbo works with the tap tempo and tremolo, and then he shows us the unique Shape control, which changes the relationship between the time spent increasing the volume and the time spent reducing the volume. That adds a whole new feel to the tremolo effect.
Then he gets some helicopter chops going pretty nice. Definitely worth watching in the Gearwire video.
