Seymour Duncan SH-15 Alternative 8 Humbucker Brings The Heat Without The Sizzle

April 18, 2008
Seymour Duncan SH-15 Alternative 8

Seymour Duncan announces the SH-15 Alternative 8 humbucker pickup. It's a high output pickup that puts out a little extra oomph that is suited for music that would be generally considered "rocking," especially through a high gain amplifier.

The SH-15 is Seymour Duncan's first production pickup equipped with an Alnico 8 magnet. Watch out for the hot coils, even though the SH-15 Alternative 8 cuts down on that sizzling sound you may be used to with other high-output ceramic magnet pickups.

Output on the SH-15 provides an enhanced sound that generously caters to the mid and upper-mid range. You'll want to put this piece in the bridge position and pair it up with neck models like the SH-1n ’59 or the SH-2n Jazz Model. It's most suitable home is a balanced, warm guitar with a rosewood fingerboard.
