Shure Beta 27: New Side-Address, Supercardioid Condenser Microphone Ships
Stage and studio miking come together for the new Shure Beta 27 side-address, supercardioid microphone. The Beta 27 is the only side-address, supercardioid condenser microphone of its kind designed for professional sound reinforcement, notes Shure.
Developed for those who want a condenser mic that offers better isolation of the sound source, the Beta 27 has a supercardioid polar pattern that targets the sound source like no other, in any type of acoustic environment, according to the manufacturer. The mic has a large diaphragm, low self-noise, minimized bleed from off-axis sound sources, and a flat, neutral frequency response.
The Beta 27 features a low-mass, one-inch externally-biased, ultra-thin 24K gold-layered Mylar diaphragm; a three-position switchable low-frequency filter that reduces stage rumble and delivers a consistent low-end; a -15 dB switchable attenuator that handles high sound pressure levels; and premium electronic components and gold-plated internal and external connectors.
Ideal for studio recording projects, live sound, and more, the new mic comes with an internal pop filter with three separate mesh layers, and a two-year limited warranty. The Beta 27 is now shipping for $499 MSRP. For more information, visit shure.com.
