Sennheiser MD 421 And Shure Beta 87: BYOM With Dengue Fever
July 23, 2008
Dengue Fever has a touring live sound engineer, Allejandro, and we figured he might be a wealth of good advice. With the importance that microphones have on a live show, it's a wonder that more bands don't bring their own microphones. Not everyone sounds uniformly good on a stock SM58, so bring the mic that flatter your vocals and your guitar cabs the most.
For Dengue Fever, those happen to be a Beta 58 on the voice and a Sennheiser MD 421 on guitar. Not bad choices at all, says I!
