Shure Special Edition Super 55 Microphone Introduced
One of Shure's Super mics just got even more special, now that Shure has released the Special Edition Super 55 vocal microphone -- a combination of modern technology and vintage design.
The Super 55 microphone delivers high-quality sound and natural vocal reproduction, and the Special Edition Super 55 does the same in a new red and black color scheme. The Special Edition was released to pay tribute to the original Shure Unidyne, the first single-element unidirectional microphone, which was introduced in 1939.
This red-hot mic features a satin black die-cast body, a supercardioid polar pattern, red foam, and a frequency response tailored for natural vocals and speech. Ideal for stage, studio recording, Podcasting, and other sound applications, the Special Edition microphone works well in any instance where a stand-mounted microphone with a vintage-like look is needed. A self-tensioning swivel mount allows you to tilt the mic to your desired angle; tilt it 45 degrees forward and 80 degrees backward. Designed to allow vocals to come through, the mic has a shockmounted cartridge that minimizes handling and stage noise to ensure quiet operation. Included with the new Special Edition microphone is an integrated swivel stand mount base and microphone bag.
Shure Special Edition Super 55 features:
- Tailored frequency response (60 to 17,000 Hz) for natural vocals and speech
- Dynamic microphone with supercardioid polar pattern
- Neodymium magnet and output transformer for increased sensitivity and high output
- Vintage-like chrome-plated design with red / black color combination
- Supercardioid polar pattern provides high gain before feedback, plus excellent off-axis rejection
- Shockmounted cartridge minimizes handling and stage noise while ensuring quiet operation
- Rugged die-cast chrome casing is reliable and durable
- Self-tensioning swivel mount permits tilting through 45 degrees forward and 80 degrees backward
The new Special Edition Super 55 vocal microphone lists at $354 (MSRP). For more information, please visit Shure at shure.com.
