SIMS Audio Primus a25 MIDI Controller

SIMS Audio has released and began shipment on the PRIMUS a25, a 25 key MIDI/USB keyboard that also serves as a USB interface. A complete software bundle from Native Instruments is paired with it.

The USB bus powered PRIMUS has a direct monitoring switch for latency free monitoring. It is very minimal in size for maximal portability and includes pitch bend / modulation wheels, eight assignable MIDI controller knobs / encoders, and five editable user banks internally.

The software bundle from Native Instruments that is included features the B4II tone wheel organ simulator, the Pro53 Prophet 5 simulator, FM8 FM Synth and Battery 3 drum sampler for use with PRIMUS right out of the box. Other features and specs include:

  • Eight assignable MIDI controller knobs and encoders
  • Function keypads and a data wheel with
  • Three digit 7-segment LED display

  • Four presets optimized for bundled demo software and one useful preset
  • Pitch bend and modulation wheels
  • Sustain pedal jack
  • Two line inputs (1/4” TS), one MIC input (1/4” TRS) and a Hi-Z input (1/4” TS)
  • Two line outputs (1/4” TS) / Headphone output with level control
  • Direct monitor switch for zero-latency monitoring
  • USB 2.0 bus powered
  • Additional 9V DC power socket
  • Supports WDM, ASIO, DirectSound and Core Audio driver with low latency
