Softube Tube Delay: What The British Call "Subway Traffic"
If a real tube delay effect unit had just kicked its S.O. out of their rent-controlled apartment in Manhattan, and then posted a classified for a roomie (SRTDEU seeks same, natch) in order to retain said apartment, the new Softube Tube Delay would be Jenifer Jason Leigh.
Softube promises that its new Tube Delay plugin so closely emulates an actual analog tube delay, in sound as well as functionality, it'll creep you out. The design architecture emulates a passive EQ section with several tube stages to produce a delay that can sound either warm and organic or gnarly and raw. The plugin features independent controls for dry and wet signals, with simple "delay time" and "feedback" controls for the effect.
When the effect parameters are dialed out completely (via the dry / wet mix control), the plugin serves as an (emulated) analog tube preamp, just like a "Jane Fonda" tube delay would. Of course, no doppelgänger would be successful if it didn't somehow better its mark, and so the Softube Tube Delay features a MIDI time sync on-off switch.
Softube provides a 10-day, fully functional demo for your perusal. We recommend checking it out; just be wary if it starts borrowing your clothes.
