Solid State Logic Stereo EQ Module For X-Rack: Stereo Version Of Console Channel EQ
Coming soon for the X-Rack modular rack system is the new Solid State Logic Stereo EQ Module. This module joins ten others in the company's series for the X-Rack.
The X-Rack Stereo EQ Module is a stereo version of Solid State Logic's (SSL's) console Channel EQ. This classic-style SSL four-band parametric EQ is a superb all-around frequency adjustment tool kit, according to the manufacturer -- whether you need pinpoint accuracy for surgical problem solving, smoother broader sound shaping, or a little more aggressive character, the SSL Stereo EQ will provide what you need.
As a fully featured EQ, the Stereo EQ Module has high- and low-bands switchable between shelving or fixed Q bell curves, plus two mid-bands each with variable Q control. This stereo version also introduces a Selective Mode switch that enables independent switching of high and low bands and mid bands between the company's E & G series console EQ characteristics. Overall, the Selective Mode switch gives the module a more versatile EQ design.
Stereo EQ Module for X-Rack features:
- Stereo version of the XL 9000 K Channel Equalizer, as used on Duality and AWS consoles
- Selective Mode E and G characteristic switching, which enables independent switching of high and low bands and mid bands between E or G curves
- High bands and low bands switchable between shelving and fixed-Q Bell curves
- EQ IN switch for A / B comparison
- Rear-panel connections on balanced TRS Jack
- Total Recall status LEDs
So what is this X-Rack? Based on SuperAnalogue electronics from SSL's XL 9000 K Series console, the X-Rack is a modular rack system with Total Recall that offers a classic SSL sound in a versatile layout. Each X-Rack chassis holds up to 8 modules in any configuration, and when the Stereo EQ Module is released, you will have 11 different modules from which to choose.
With the X-Rack, you can combine EQ, Dynamics, and VHD modules to form comprehensive standalone processing solutions, notes SSL. Two different Mic Amp modules can be added to create high-quality recording solutions, while standalone mixers can be configured by adding Master Bus, Four Input, and Eight Input modules. The X-Rack is ideal for both studio and live applications.
SSL will announce the Stereo EQ Module's price and release date at a later time. Until then, learn more about the new module and the X-Rack System at solid-state-logic.com.
