SONiVOX Downloadable Virtual Instruments: You'll Be Up To Your %$@#! In New Plugins
Someone at SONiVOX wasn't keeping tabs on their domesticated plugin purebreeds. Now they've got a litter of fifty-seven of the little scamps running around the office. Rather than simply bad them and throw them in the river, SONiVOX has decided to give them away -- time-limited free trial versions, anyway -- as part of their newly announced DVI program.
DVI stands for Downloadable Virtual Instruments; not just a clever name, as each of these fifty-seven instruments is small enough to be downloaded directly from the SONiVOX website. Not only is browsing and testing these new virtual instruments hassle and commitment-free, but owning them is easy to: the individual plugins start at $19.95 each.
The new DVI plugs are based on the most recent version of SONiVOX's virtual instrument synthesis engine, and feature Special FX developed in conjunction with iZotope; it just goes to show, you shouldn't confuse "affordable" with "cheap."
The first fifty-seven available DVIs include such various plugins as CreamyFuzzGuitar, DynamicAcousticBass, SuitcaseElectricPiano and SymphonicHarpLite (practitioners of the bedroom symphony, rejoice). The plus are available in VST or AU format, and are both MAC and PC ready.
