Sontronics SONORA

After an unveiling at Musikmesse 2008, Sontronics has released SONORA, a dual-channel preamp / DI-box with two discrete channels. It features a proprietary vintage circuit design that was circuit designed to revive vintage sound via modern technology at a price that won't kill you.

SONORA features a very linear response with a variance of just a tenth of a decibel from 20 Hz to 40 kHz. Its transient response is latency free and its signal is transparent as Photoshopping what might be a ghost out of a picture. Its distortion-free headroom figure, which tops 60 dB, means that it can capture quiet or loud sound with ease.

The two channels are identical, and each has a 12-step "click" level control for simple level matching without need for another intervention. Each channel also features its own 75 Hz high-pass filter, a -20 dB attenuation switch and phantom power switch with signal and clip LEDs for metering.

It all comes packaged in a portably sized casing for traveling interface work both live and in studio. An external mains power supply protects your signal from electrical inductance, and a voltage-switch makes this an international jet-setter of preamps / DI-boxes.
