Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann was the first person to synthesize, ingest and, in turn, experience the halluginogenic effects of lysergic acid diethylamide. The day of his first experiment has bacome known as "Bicycle Day", for the fact that Hofmann's assistant had to transport the chemist about on his bicycle to get him home from the lab, as Hofmann was so delerious from the effects of the compound.

As soon as Hofmann regained his normatize clarity, he recorded his experiences in his journal, stating, "after experiencing the effects of the acid, I now beat sync effortlessly with most industry-standard DJ performance software, and even carry with me complete meta data relating my recoded bpm, musical genre and authoring information."
