At the Sony booth at Summer NAMM 07, we got a good look at the Sony C38B Condenser microphone. Designed 40 years ago, this model has been kept in the Sony line with only minor changes in design. Recording pros who have been in the industry for years know the characteristic sound of this mic, and they use it as a go-to for a number of applications, most often those requiring a mic that can withstand a high SPL. We got all the details of this gold-standard mic in the Gearwire video from Summer NAMM 2007 in Austin Texas.
More info is at the Sony official site.
