Sony ICDP520 With Classically-Trained Barbed-Wire-Ist Glenn Weyant

October 27, 2008
Sony ICDP520 Glenn Weyant

In the ongoing debates surrounding U.S. / Mexican relations and border security, Glenn Weyant doesn't like to play sides. He prefers playing the border itself. Using a combination of contact mics, a cello bow and other mischievous musical implements, Glenn coaxes atmospheric textures from the metal border walls and barbed-wire fences in Nogales, AZ, and records it all to a simple Sony ICDP520.

GW interviewed Glenn about his equipment choices, and he regales us with tales of being harassed by patrols and his unexpected audience of one.
