The Sound Devices 744t portable hard disk recorder has a new 2.0 firmware update that lets it record to an external firewire hard drive or DVD RAM. The new firmware also lets you use an external keyboard with the recorder. The 744T is designed for pro-quality audio capture during filmmaking, including band documentaries and other situations where musicians are being interviewed, profiled, and generally captured for posterity.
