Soundcraft 600 Custom Console: Gunpoint Said "Pimp My Board," And Creation Audio Of Nashville Answered, "OK!"

Soundcraft 600 Console modded by Creation Audio, Nashville

Say hello to Bob Popp's sonic Swiss Army Knife: an after-market Soundcraft 600 console with gain-stage mods done by Creation Audio in Nashville, TN. Gunpoint Studios handles recording projects ranging from hard rock groups to commercial post-production, so Bob had Creation Audio tailor different sections of his board for different applications.

For example, the higher channels were scrubbed with pledge to give it that extra sheen, and the circuits on the "rock" section were all doused in PBR. I could go into the more technical stuff, but I'll let Mr. Popp handle that.

how do you get the crackle out of old buttons on the 600?

Bob POpp I have the same console, stock, matched to my ampex mm1200 2inch and it is a heavenly combination with protools and digi 002's, along with vintage jbl "control" 15 in. speakers and JBl LS25 powered nearfields, wonderful.

My only problem I have is keeping all those buttons and switches "excercised" to keep from getting "stiff", and my biggest problem is how to get the "crackle" out of an occasional button other that just on off on off till it stops. My buddy has a 100 channel SSL board and they have the same problems.
