Soundcraft Vi Software Updated To 2.0
Soundcraft has updated the operating software for their Vi series Digital Live Sound Consoles, and the update brings a lot of new features and capabilities that will ease operation of the Vi6 and Vi4 units.
The upgrade to version 2.0 brings a new Copy/Paste function that allows for settings on any channel, bus, FX section, or processing element to be copy-pasted to other channels in a time-saving, exacting process. For accidental pastes, an undo function returns the latest paste back to its old settings. Copying is also operable via touch screen manipulation that uses Vistonics II screens.
Improvements to the Library functionality have also been made. Users can select sets of parameters and store them in the internal library for instant recall. Users can build up their libraries with a USB memory stick for portable transfer to the Vi console.
Also included in the new version 2.0 are libraries of EQ and Dynamics settings, enhancements made to the output graphic and parametric EQ linking functions. Furthermore, Pan and Gain controls can be adjusted individually between left and right on stereo input channels.
And finally, as the world gets more dangerous, Soundcraft increases security with their version 2.0 software for Vi consoles. An auto-backup system retains the last settings in the event of a power interruption so that they're automatically restored when the power returns. We can all rest a little safer now.
