The 788T is a digital recorder by Sound Devices that is indeed very powerful. Being a small-sized packaged packed with a lot of recording features, recording at any location is a breeze. To make it even more powerful and versatile, the Sound Devices CL-2, a remote control and fader add-on to the 788T, is to be featured at IBC 2009 and is now shipping.

The CL-2 can be either used on a surface or strapped on to a microphone boom pole. Using the 788T's proprietary C.Link port, the CL-2 provides a single 30-mm fader which can be programmed to control any input on the 788T. Two position switches on the CL-2 can be assigned to operate several critical functions on the 788T such as remote record activation. The CL-2 requires firmware revision 1.75 or greater.

For such a small device, the Sound Devices CL-2 provides a much larger degree of freedom and convenience for the 788T user. The CL-2 can be purchased for 325.00 USD from various dealers.
