Make time for PLAY -- the Symphonic Orchestra Free PLAY Edition by EastWest / Quantum Leap, that is. Announced by Soundsonline, this starter version of the original Symphonic Orchestra virtual instrument can be yours for free.

The Symphonic Orchestra Free PLAY Edition (Mac / Win) works with most sequencer and notation hosts, including Ableton Live, Steinberg Cubase / Nuendo, MOTU Digital Performer, MakeMusic Finale, Apple Garageband, Apple Logic, Digidesign Pro Tools, Sibelius, Cakewalk Sonar, and others. The virtual instrument may also be used on its own as a standalone application with your music keyboard.

To get the free starter version, all you have to do is answer a short survey and then wait to receive a response email containing a promotional code. If you like the starter version, you can upgrade to the Gold, Platinum, or Platinum Plus versions at a discounted price, by using the promo code in your email. Even if you choose not to upgrade, you still get to keep the starter version, which is not time-limited or copy-protected. This offer expires January 31, 2010.
